E9-1-1 PS/ALI Compliance and Onsite Reporting
When a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) receives a 911 call from an organization that has a campus or has a large building with multiple floors, typically they receive only the information pertaining to the main location where the PBX is located and not the actual location of the caller or the extension that dialed 911. PSAP ends up sending the Emergency Services to the main location due to this rather than the actual location thereby wasting precious time to save somebody who is in trouble.
E9-1-1 compliance mandates organizations with multiple buildings / floors to provide up-to-date information like call-back number (ANI), Automatic Location Information (ALI) in NENA (National Emergency Number Association) format.
